Directory Cover Contest for all Students!

All Hardy students are invited to submit a design for the cover of this year’s student directory!  This week, Mrs. Wright will discuss the directory cover contest with students.  

Drawings should represent, or symbolize Hardy Elementary and its students. It should be on a plain white 8-1/2 x11 sheet of paper and drawn in black and white ONLY. Please put your name and teacher’s name on the BACK of the paper. 

All designs must be turned in to your teacher by Wednesday, September 19, 2018. 

The front office will select the winning drawing. The winning design will be displayed on the cover of our school directory for the year. The runner-up will be displayed on the PTO thank you notes for the year.

Field Days

We need your help for one more event this year!  Field Days!  This year, Field Days are being held on Wednesday, June 13th and Thursday, June 14th (1/2 days).  
It is a GREAT time for all of the students of Hardy.  Parent volunteers help the day go by smoothly.  Without you, Field Day can't happen.  
If you have already signed up via your teacher, thank you.  If you have not or could help on the day your student does not participate, we'd appreciate the support!

PTO Board and CHEERS Update

At the last PTO meeting on May 3rd, a new PTO Board for the 2018-2019 School Year was voted in.  

President: Holly Tilton
Vice President: Suzy Bahu
Secretary: Natalie Diffin
Treasurer: Cheryl Chanko

CHEERS coordinators have also been established for the new year: Bridget Iovan and Jody Shade.  They will provide integral outreach with volunteers, coordination with the staff, and work closely with the PTO.  

With this transition, we see the departure from the board of Mary Taylor.  Please join us in thanking her as she held the position of the PTO Vice President for the past 3 years.  Her creativity, macro-viewpoint, and desire to support the students and staff have helped drive the direction of the PTO.  Her contributions have been invaluable to the successful events, fundraising efforts, and amazing purchases seen in the past 3 years.  Thanks Mary!  We will miss you!!  

2018 Hardy Golf Outing

Another Hardy PTO golf outing is in the books!  Sunday, May 20th saw 140 people (and little bit of rain) having a great time at Cattails Golf Club. Thank you to ALL of our supporters- sponsors, golfers, donors - who truly made this event an amazing success. If you visit Hardy in the near future, you will notice the sponsor tee box signs in the front landscaping bed.  It is fantastic to have such generous community members that want to help our students! 

The funds raised from the outing will be used for the following initiatives:

• 36 Chrome books
• Headphones and Computer mice
• a LARGE purchase of books to update and enhance the guided reading library
• Alternative seating options for students which will be spread out among the classrooms
• End of the year fun for all students at Field Day
• Other PTO plans
